FRIENDS GROUPS

Both of our sites have Friends societies to support the Museums.

This can be financial support through fundraising programmes to preserve and develop the collections, or other appropriate assistance.

The Friends groups help foster an interest in the Museum at home and overseas.

​

Friends of Schomberg House
​

The Friends of Schomberg House help to support our Belfast museum.

The group is overseen by a committee voted for annually at the Annual General Meeting.

​

Individual Membership

 

Benefits exclusive to members of Friends of Schomberg House:

​

  • Quarterly newsletter giving details of events and updates of the museum’s progress

  • Free copy of the Journal of Orange History

  • Specially organised programme of events and outings

  • First refusal of Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland jewels and preferential notice on other limited edition products

 

The first year of individual membership is £17.95, with an annual renewal rate of £10.

 

Lodge and Corporate Membership

Orange lodges and other corporate bodies can join at our Lodge and Corporate membership rate of £50 per year with an annual renewal rate of £40.  This membership entitles the group to a free guided visit to the museum and free hire of the Boardroom on one occasion.  The group also receives a free copy of the Journal of Orange Heritage.

Friends of Sloan's House
​

A support group has been established to support the aims of the Museum of Orange Heritage at Sloan’s House, Loughgall. The group has taken the name, “Friends of Sloan’s House.” This gives an opportunity for the wider community to be directly involved for an annual subscription. There are presently members from as far away as Australia and the USA. The members have the satisfaction of knowing they are furthering the aims of education, preserving important historical artefacts and building peace & reconciliation. They are kept informed of the progress of the building work, outreach activities, attend meetings about the project, receive newsletters and are presented with historical lectures.

 

Membership of this support group entitles members to the following benefits:

 

  • The ability to engage with the management committee

  • Attend the Annual General Meeting

  • Receive a complimentary Diary

  • Receive periodical full colour newsletters featuring articles the project

  • Attend historical lectures

 

How to Join:

You can join as a member by paying a subscription of £17.95, and an annual subscription in following years of £10.00. If you are interested please forward your name, address, post code, telephone number, mobile number and email address along with a cheque.
